What did you say? OMG, LOL, BRB, TBD, ETA and more.
WDW, MCO, IOA, UCF....OMG.

In the music world and travel world, we speak using a ton of acronyms and even nicknames. Much of the time these are all commonplace ones we use that most people can figure out. We frequently use terms like ETA and TBD. (Estimated time of arrival and to be determined) But we also get much deeper when referring to places, destinations competition circuits, and events. This blog will talk about some of those terms we commonly use.
Part 1- Orlando
Welcome to Orlando (Or MCO when we talk about the airport). The letters MCO come from the original name of the Orlando airport which was McCoy airport. Once you’ve landed at MCO chances are you are going to board the APM (automated people mover) and maybe even get on the DMex (Disney’s Magical Express). From there you will eventually make your way over to WDW. (Walt Disney world) Maybe you’ll spend a day at MK, DHS, DAK and of course EPCOT. (Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and of course the Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow.
Of course, there are plenty of other things to do here in Orlando. Maybe you would rather spend your time at UO and go to their great parks, USF, IOA or VB. I’m talking about Universal Orlando (The overall name of the resort area) this contains Universal Studios Florida, Islands Of Adventure, and the brand new Volcano Bay water park.
As our mayor Buddy Dyer says while you ride the APM at the airport. “There’s so much more to do in the city beautiful…There is something for everyone” He’s completely right! Some visitors come here just to watch “Orlando City” play soccer. Visit some of our smaller attractions on IDrive (International Drive). shop at Millennia. (The Mall of Millennia).
Lastly, let’s not forget UCF!!! Our 2017 world champions (said tongue in cheek for all the Bama fans out there) The University of Central Florida is one of the top 10 largest schools in the country and has gained national attention for its sports teams and education.
There Truly is something for everyone here in Orlando and us locals probably have a nickname or abbreviation for it.
