Huntsville Field Trip

Created through a partnership with area educators and the educational directors at Huntsville, Alabama attractions, offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in “hands-on” learning experiences. More than just a break from the classroom, this will be a unique field trip experience in Huntsville, Alabama that your students will remember for a lifetime.
U.S. Space and Rocket Center
Not only is America’s space program on exhibit in Huntsville, it was forged in Huntsville. A space enthusiast, history buff, appreciator of the arts, or anyone with a general curiosity for how the world works would enjoy Alabama’s top tourism jewel. Where else can one stand beneath the world’s only full-stack Space Shuttle, complete with two solid rocket boosters and external tank? Or walk the length of a suspended authentic Saturn V moon rocket?
Burritt on the Mountain
Step back into the lives of southern farmers as you visit historic log structures including the Eddins House ca. 1808, the oldest known man-made dwelling in Alabama. Living history interpreters recreate the diversity of farm life allowing you to become involved through lively conversation, demonstration and hands-on activities. In the Burritt Barnyard, students can get “up close and personal” with animals that would have been used for work, wool and even food for the families.
